The visit to Outreau’s plant by Mr Frederic Cuvillier, Minister of Transportation, Mr Guillaume Pepy, SNCF Chairman, and other elected officials affirm the French government’s support to the French railway industry and in particular to Outreau Technologies, 100% subsidiary of Manoir Industries Group.
Manoir Industries, with its 1700 employees (1100 of whom are based in France) operating from 8 production units consisting of forges, foundries, welding and assembly shops reached a turnover of €220m in 2012. Its technical expertise is recognized worldwide for the manufacturing of high integrity cast and forged alloy components and assemblies.
With its 210 employees, the Boulonnais Outreau Technologies plant conceives and manufactures fishplated or welded monobloc cast austenitic manganese steel crossings for the railway markets such as conventional and high-speed tracks, suburban tracks, metros and tramways.Outreau has earned customer recognition and respect including the French railway network, the SNCF and other worldwide companies. Thanks to its irreproachable service rate and its excellent quality, Outreau Technologies has been once again, awarded a 5-year contract with SNCF, representing a significant part of their crossing market.
Outreau Technologies R&D is very active in the most up-to-date innovative technical products. Its cost-efficient explosive depth hardening crossings enable customers to significantly reduce and optimize maintenance expenses for existing and new lines to ensure higher passage accessibility.
On October 31st of this year, Manoir Industries signed an agreement with Yantai Taihai, an industrial Chinese group to form a new strategic partnership comprising 2 of Manoir’s Business Units, Petrochem & Nuclear and Specialties including Outreau’s plant. This new agreement will come to fruition, subject to approvals from the French Ministry of Economy and Finance.
This partnership will generate long-term opportunities to streamline, optimize and develop business. A €60m-investment plan for the period 2013 – 2016, €6m of which are allocated to Outreau, and the creation of 30 new jobs will strengthen Manoir Industries.
