On April 4, 2013 an opening ceremony took place in Manoir Pîtres to mark the new investment in a machining center.
The presence of involved customers and regional politicians prove the importance of supporting high technology investment in Normandy.
To support its strong growth in the nuclear and conventional casting market, Manoir Pîtres has invested in a crutial equipment: an horizontal machining center.
This major investment contributes to the new first step of Manoir Pîtres’position as a key partnership in conventional and nuclear sectors. It enhances a high machining capacity in Pîtres and the process integration which is today sub-contracted.
Moreover it enables the Areva pluri-annual partnership agreement signed in April 2012 in the framework of the first 1300 MW EDF nuclear plant generator replacement. It gives in Manoir Pîtres, the possibility to machine the nuclear loops consisted of large size elbows and tubes.
Areva has confirmed and guarantees Manoir of its confidence to the successful implementation of this new processing step.
Rough machining or fully machined products is a major benefit for our customers.
