Machining of primary circuit cast elbows

Manoir Pîtres’ machining shop has a new floor type boring machine especially equipped to entirely machine the primary circuit cast elbows for PWR nuclear plants.
The innovation is the ability to bore the 90° torus on a 31″ diameter and a radius of 1360mm and to obtain directly a roughness of under 125 RMS.

This result is a combination of 3 advantages:
• a fully integrated mechanical unit
• custom programming and the use of simulation
• the training and involvement of our technicians
This investment and experience also positions Manoir for final machining of big valve bodies, pump housings or any other pieces of up to 12 t.

Manoir Industries, an international metal processing casting and forging group, develops proprietary alloys and manufactures high performance metal components molded and forged for the petrochemical, nuclear, oil&gas, civil engineering, energy, defense and construction markets.
