Manoir Industries has achieved lean manufacturing to better serve its customers in the conventional foundry – March 2017

With over 100 years of casting expertise, the Pîtres’ plant of Manoir Industries Group has acquired a new, innovative production line to meet its customers’ requirements for shorter delivery timescales.

The deployment of stream-lined production dedicated to the nuclear, and oil and gas markets provides production with faster delivery deadlines while respecting the stringent quality standards. No matter how complex the alloy and shapes (valve bodies or pump bodies), up to 150 kg in weight and 800 mm in size, components will be manufactured and delivered within four to six weeks using a shortened process due to the rationalisation of the production chain.

To effectively take into account the metallurgical segregation and achieve peak performance, the production is composed of two continuous work lines: a first line dedicated to carbon steel and the other to austenitic steels. This ‘Fast Line’ area integrates operations for surface treatment, controls and specific repairs. Manoir Pîtres also focuses on providing suitable working conditions for the operators in terms of suction and lifting.

This new, optimised production line is a key asset that enables Manoir Pîtres to better meet its customers’ requirements, in terms of optimised deliveries in particular.

Manoir Industries, an international, metal-processing, casting and forging group, develops proprietary alloys and manufactures high-performance metal components that are moulded and forged for the petrochemical, nuclear, oil & gas, civil engineering, energy, defence, and construction markets. Manoir’s solid technical expertise continues to drive its sustainable leading position offering innovative services to its customers worldwide.
