In 2012, in order to accompany its customers, Manoir Pîtres decided to deliver some castings not only rough machined, but delivered at the final machining stage. This allows our clients to install directly the equipment without additional machining steps. Thus, assembly time is reduced and constraints related to the addition of others subcontractors disappear. The acquisition of the TOS® machining center gives to Manoir this capacity.
The maximum weight capacity of the machining center is 20 tons, it is equipped with a fixed 9 meters length table and a turntable of 2.0 x 2.5 meters. This machine is a 5 axis machine with 3 simultaneous axis.
In 2017, new investments allowed the purchase of a second turntable with a diameter of 2.5 meters. In two years, 27 primary cooling loop elbows, with an average weight of 5 tons each, were machined for AREVA in the frame of the “Grand Carénage” Project, consisting at extending the life of the existing french nuclear park.
Initially intended for the castings pieces of the nuclear market sector, this equipment is today furthermore used for all types of valve parts.
