Main tasks: For over a century, Manoir Industries, as an international group in metal processing, has developed alloys and operated processes dedicated to the manufacture of high-performance cast, forging and boilermaking components for the petrochemical, nuclear, oil&gas, construction and mining equipment, windmill and hydraulic, defence, steel and aerospace industries. Manoir Industries employs over 1,500 employees in eight production sites located in Europe and Asia.
The research and development (R&D) engineer will be in charge of the development of new products and new technologies in Manoir Pîtres. She/he will lead various R&D projects, from early stages developments to industrialisation, and will be in charge of monitoring our process and evaluating new technologies when installed at our customers’sites. She/he will take part in collaborative projects with other plants in the group, and with our academic and industrial partners. She/he will be responsible for her/his scientific communication, will write articles in peer-reviewed journals and take part in international conferences. She/he will be the industrial referent in the area of master’s students’internships and PhD studies.
Skills/knowledge: Expertise in materials science (preferentially metallurgy), as well as microscopy and material-properties characterisation. Knowledge of metal processing. Fluent in French and English.
Human skills: The candidate must be rigorous, dynamic, innovative and proactive. She/he is good communicator and likes working as part of a team. She/he has a strong interest in scientific and technical challenges, processes, industry, and project management.
Education: Master’s degree in materials science and engineering. A PhD degree in materials science (preferably metallurgy) will be a major advantage.
