Focus on the reconstruction of forging – Republicain Lorrain

To turn the forging fire into an opportunity and to rebound again: this is Manoir Industries’credo that applies to its plant at Bouzonville, four months after the terrible fire that partially ravaged its forging facility.

”We are still alive and we will remain standing,” declared Etienne Callais, Manoir Industries’deputy chief executive officer of forgings, who wishes to deliver a reassuring and optimistic message in the aftermath of the fire that destroyed the forge and some workshops at its factory, which was founded 70 years ago in Bouzonville.

”We had to find solutions to cope with the activity drop,” admitted the plant manager, mentioning the cancellation of temporary positions, the reclassification of staff, the use of partial unemployment for some of the 180 employees, the development of about 30 subcontracting tools for partners (France, Italy, Switzerland, etc), and the implementation of an ambitious training plan starting in December, which he confirmed is ”to reconsolidate the foundation of our businesses.”

He also said, ”but thanks to the solidarity of everyone, including customers and suppliers, we are on the right track to imagine and rebuild the forge of tomorrow.”
